Scott Kirby - Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Kirby is Chief Executive officer of United Airlines. He served as the company’s president from 2016 to 2020 and was responsible for United’s operations, marketing, sales, alliances, network planning and revenue management. As president, he played a pivotal role in enabling United’s cultural transformation and executing the Company’s strategic growth plan. Elected in December 2020, Mr. Kirby serves as the Chairman of the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board (CEB). Mr. Kirby is also a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors.
Prior to joining United, Mr. Kirby was president of American Airlines from 2013 to 2016 and president of US Airways from 2006 to 2013. He is a well-known industry veteran, with a broad and accomplished three-decade-long career in significant leadership roles within the airline industry. Mr. Kirby started his career at the Pentagon and in the technology sector.
Mr. Kirby has bachelor’s degrees in computer science and operations research from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Master of Science in operations research from George Washington University. He is married and has seven children.
Andrew Nocella, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer
Andrew Nocella is United’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer. He brings expansive knowledge to this position, having joined the industry over 20 years ago.
In his current role, Andrew oversees all aspects of United’s commercial strategies and product design including cargo, United Express, pricing and revenue management, network and commercial strategy, sales, alliances, marketing functions and MileagePlus.
Before joining United, Andrew held various leadership positions at American Airlines and US Airways. He most recently served as senior vice president of network planning, alliance and sales at American Airlines, where he oversaw the airline’s route schedule, global sales and partnerships with other airlines. Before that role, he was senior vice president of marketing and planning at US Airways. He also spent time in route planning for Continental Airlines.
Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in decision sciences from George Mason University.
Kate Gebo, Executive Vice President Human Resources and Labor Relations
Kate Gebo is the executive vice president of human resources and labor relations for United Airlines. Kate is responsible for leading a global team of more than 500 professionals in the transformation of United’s culture.
In her role, Kate and her team are the principle drivers of delivering on commitments to employees to provide a great employee experience. This includes recruiting, developing and retaining top talent, and building effective teams to put customers at the center of everything United does while working closely with our labor partners.
Kate previously served as senior vice president of customer service delivery and chief customer officer at United. She was responsible for delivering an integrated and industry-leading travel experience for customers from booking to landing. Kate also previously served as United’s vice president for the office of the CEO, where she worked with United’s CEO, Oscar Munoz, and the executive team to coordinate strategic company initiatives.
Kate joined United in 1998 and also held roles leading the corporate real estate organization and in procurement. Prior to joining United, Kate worked at Continental Airlines.
Kate is a board member of Youth Guidance and also a Leadership Greater Chicago Daniel Burnham Fellow. She received her bachelor’s degree in finance from Chicago’s DePaul University and earned a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Business at Loyola University of Chicago.
Doreen Burse, Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales
Doreen Burse is an experienced hospitality industry executive currently serving as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at United. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Doreen brings a wealth of expertise to her role, overseeing global sales strategy, enhancing existing sales programs, and building new partnerships to drive overall revenue. Reporting to Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella, Doreen has held leadership roles in global sales, branded concepts, distribution services, and global procurement with Marriott International before joining United.
Throughout her career, Doreen has guided her teams through a variety of organizational evolutions, business strategy expansions, and economic cycles, including the 2020 pandemic. In her most recent role at Marriott, she was Vice President of Global Sales for the U.S. and Canada, leading a global account team serving over 1,300 accounts that represented $16 billion in annual spending. Doreen previously served as Vice President of Global Sales for North America and Vice President of Global Sales for Corporate Accounts. Additionally, Doreen was a Sales University Facilitator for Marriott’s Learning & Delivery Team.
Doreen is an accomplished public speaker and a member of several industry organizations, including the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), Meetings Professional International (MPI), and the AMC Institute. She currently serves on the board of directors for the AMC Institute and is an editorial board member for Smart Meetings Magazine and Business Travel News.
Doreen lives in Chicago and has four children.
Luc Bondar, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer - MileagePlus
Luc Bondar is United's vice president and COO of MileagePlus. As the leader of United's consumer loyalty programs and MileagePlus, Luc is responsible for world-wide program operations, performance, and growth, including all associated program partnerships.
Luc has worked in various international markets throughout his career, including the U.K., Europe, APAC, and North America, and has extensive experience in marketing and loyalty for global airlines, travel, financial services, and retail brands.
He holds bachelor's degrees in commerce and liberal arts from the University of Adelaide, Australia, and a postgraduate degree in management from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Australia.
Jorge Franz, Senior Vice President Tourism and Industry Relations - Houston First Corp.
Jorge Franz, SVP of Tourism and Industry Relations at Houston First Corporation, boasts over 20 years of experience in the company. His role entails overseeing three departments - Tourism, Houston Film Commission, and Event Services.
The Tourism Department markets Houston as a leisure destination to travel trade industries in domestic and international markets. The Houston Film Commission promotes Houston to producers and filmmakers as a production destination, providing location databases, crew directories, and acting as a liaison for filming experiences. Lastly, the Events Services Department manages internal events for the company.
Previously, Mr. Franz served as President of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, overseeing operations, interaction, and value delivery for 820 members. He has also represented Houston globally, working closely with multiple Houston mayors to attract visitors.
Active in the tourism sector, he serves on the board of various associations such as Expedia's Media Solutions Select Board, Texas Travel Alliance, and Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus. He is a Past Chair of the Governor of Texas' Tourism Advisory Committee.
Born in Santiago, Chile, Mr. Franz has lived in Chile, Venezuela, Spain, and the United States. He is married to Holly and they have a beautiful nine-year old boy named Ethan.
Aaron McMillian, Managing Director Hospitality and Planning
Aaron McMillan, United’s Managing Director, Hospitality & Planning, responsible for spearheading the airline's food and beverage programs, as well as the strategy and commercial planning for United Clubs and Polaris Lounges. With 24 years of experience at United, Aaron has worked across various departments, including Finance, Contact Centers, and Customer Strategy & Innovation, developing a wealth of expertise in different areas of the business.
Throughout his career, Aaron has played a pivotal role in driving several high-impact initiatives, such as the creation and implementation of core4, Backstage 2019, and the CleanPlus portfolio of work. Notably, and more recently, the customer virus testing programs during the pandemic.
He continues to be based in Chicago, where he leverages his expertise and experience to drive innovation and growth within United Airlines.
Marcel Fuchs, Managing Director International Sales
Marcel Fuchs joined United 29 years ago in Zurich as General Manager Switzerland. Over the years he served in several country manager and regional management positions in EMEAI, until his appointment in November 2015 when he took on the responsibility for EMEAI & APAC Sales. In 2019, he added the Latin and Caribbean sales region to his responsibilities as Managing Director of International Sales.
Marcel has spent almost 40 years in the airline industry in various operational and commercial roles at British Airways, Pan American World Airways and United, in Zurich, Vienna, Frankfurt, Sydney and London.
Marcel is married to Mavis, has two sons Dennis & Stefan and lives in Surrey/United Kingdom. He is a passionate skier, loves hiking and history. He typically travels about 200 days a year visiting United’s customers around the world.
Pilar Hoffman, Senior Manager Latin City Ticket Offices
With over 25 years of experience in the airline industry, Pilar is a dynamic leader who has worked her way up from an airport agent at United Airlines to her current position as a key player in the company's Latin America commercial division. Her operational experience has given her a deep understanding of the importance of leading by example, and her MBA has equipped her with the strategic and managerial skills necessary to drive ongoing success.
As the head of United Airlines Ticket Sales Offices in 15 countries in Latin America, Pilar leads a team of over 100 people who are dedicated to building strong customer relationships and driving direct sales. Her expertise in budgeting, priority management, mentoring, and strategy has been instrumental in achieving and surpassing the division's goals.
Pilar is a proven leader who is committed to excellence in all aspects of her work. She is passionate about mentoring and supporting her team to reach their full potential, and her strategic vision has been instrumental in driving the ongoing success of her team. Outside of work, Pilar lives in Houston with her husband and two young children, Emi and Jimmy.
Rolf Meyer, Director Mexico & Caribbean Sales
Rolf Meyer. Director Sales Mexico & Caribbean since November 2012, responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies for the region heading a staff of more than 20 sales professionals focusing in positioning United Airlines as the best option for business customers in the region. Mexico & the Caribbean are two of the most important markets in the world for United, flying to more than 40 destinations with more than 500 weekly flights to its seven hubs in the U.S.
Rolf has a bachelor’s degree in Tourism, prior to his current responsibilities, he was leading Panama and the Andean Region. Rolf has extensive experience in the industry, specifically in alliances and sales. In 1992 he joined United as Sales Executive in Buenos Aires. In 1999 he became Manager Alliances based in Chicago and was responsible for implementing bilateral agreements, code shares and business strategies with airline members of Star Alliance as well as with regional carriers. In 2003 he moved to London as Offline Sales Manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. In 2006 and 2007 he opened United’s stations in Kuwait and Rome respectively. He was later appointed General Manager for Italy. At the end of that year, he returned to Argentina as Country Sales Manager and Offline Sales Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Rolf was born in Argentina, he is fluent in 4 languages, Spanish, German, English and Italian. Rolf has 40 years of tourism and airline industry experience, of which, 30 years have been at United.
Fred Thome, Director Andean and Central America Sales
Frederick J. Thome is Director – Sales Andean Region and Central America at United Airlines responsible for Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Central America, and has nearly 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry. Fred joined the Sales team at the end of 2018 from Alliances where he was Director Commercial Alliances. He spent over 13 years in Alliances and previously worked in Latin America Sales from 2003 until 2005 as General Manager Costa Rica and El Salvador.
Between 1996 and 2002 he worked as Director of Strategic Alliances and Director Corporate Financial Planning for LAN Airlines in Santiago, Chile. Fred started his career at United Airlines in 1992 and between that year and 1996 held various positions in International Affairs, Finance and Strategic Sourcing.
Fred was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica and graduated from Calasanz High School in San José. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jacqueline Conrado, Country Sales Manager Brazil
Jacqueline Conrado is an accomplished Country Sales Manager for United Airlines in Brazil, where she has been successfully leading the commercial and marketing strategies since 2019. With over 17 years of experience in various segments, she has a proven track record as a sales and marketing executive with a strong focus on revenue strategy, sales productivity, and industry partnerships.
During her 7-year tenure at United Airlines, Jacqueline has held multiple roles, including Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator. Prior to that, she gained invaluable experience working in advertising agencies, where she managed high-profile clients such as Shell and apparel retail. Additionally, Jacqueline worked at GOL Linhas Aéreas for 4 years, where she specialized in advertising, branding, sponsorship, and events.
Jacqueline holds a degree in Advertising, as well as an associate degree and an MBA in Marketing from FGV, with a specialization in Financial Management at FDC. She is a respected mentor and spokesperson for both DEI and uImpact, demonstrating her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
